Bio

Bill is Director of Pro Bono & Bar Relations at Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas. After receiving his J.D. from Indiana University in 1973, he clerked for a U.S. District Judge, was Director of Litigation at Indiana Legal Services, was Director of the Staff Counsel’s Office for the U.S. Court of Appeals in New Orleans, was counsel at Jones Day from 1984-2012, and was a Municipal Court Judge in Dallas from 2012-2018. He has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law and has published several law review articles on evidence, civil procedure, and business-related issues. In 2017, he was appointed by the Supreme Court of Texas to the Texas Access to Justice Commission and reappointed in 2020. Bill owns and shows American Saddlebred horses, including World Champions Colonel Clarence, Enzo, Great Day Rising, and Just Plain George.
